I knew that I had reached the top level in the pro muso/recording world the day I was in Abbey Road Studios in 2017. I was doing a quickie repair to a KKGB Wurlitzer EP200 on the premises, peeped out of the window, and there was the famous 'Beatles' pedestrian crossing, complete with continuous selfie-taking fans from all over the world... I thought ''golly gosh'', here I am in THE most famous recording studio on the planet (Shadows/Cliff/Beatles et al) and KKGB Wurlis & Rhodes being played by musos like James Bay/Laura Mvula/Ben Watt - bands like Kaiser Chiefs/Hot Chip and TOP jazz pros like Neil Cowley/Ross Stanley/David Clayton, who NEED instruments that are reliable and perform to "pro" standard, not forgetting many enthusiastic collectors and professional producers (Phil Harding/Steve Smith) and tribute bands (Carpenters Gold) and European/Scandinavian studios/musos and hire companies (Session Music - Dublin/Ooosh!).

'' I have been renting an EP200a in various cities across the US these past two weeks on my tour, and NONE are a patch on yours, Doug. Thanks. ''

"I bought my Rhodes 54 from Klassic Keys the best part of a decade ago. It was my staple through many recording sessions and festivals and always served me well, lovely sound and pleasure to play. Due to changing circumstances in my life I had to put it into storage for about 4 years and when I recently took her back out she needed a little TLC. There were some dead notes, a few sluggish keys and generally she’d lost the ‘sparkle’ that made her a joy to play when I first got her (note to others – do not keep your Rhodes in a damp storage unit for 4 years!). I figured the best course of action would be to return to Klassic Keys and book the piano in for a full service. I could not be happier with the results. New life has been breathed into my Rhodes and she is once more a joy to play and to listen to. Doug is excellent at explaining the work that needs to be done and really puts a lot of effort and the benefit of his many years of expertise into making the instrument achieve its full potential. After visiting Doug in his workshop and him showing me round I really got the impression that he is an expert in his field and also seriously passionate about keeping these electromechanical instruments working at their best. To anyone else who owns a classic keyboard and is thinking of getting it serviced, look no further than Klassic Keys! I will certainly be a repeat customer, either to purchase additions to my rig or to keep the current rig afloat. Thanks Doug! " Asa Maynard
